Les XV de France
Defying all logic, the French National Rugby Team won yesterday against the "All Blacks" of New Zealand. France fields a pretty good team, but I think lately, they aren't known for much, save their yearly scandalous calendar (look it up if your interested. Not posting that here). New Zealand, on the other hand, is probably at the top of the rugby world. Here in the United States, rugby isn't followed much, and I only learned the rules when I lived in the southwest of France, where I believe it is actually more popular than soccer. It's amazing, it manages to be more violent than American football, yet they don't wear pads! You can see various rugby-related photos from the last few weeks in Paris on Eric's Paris Daily Photo Blog. Labels: francophonie, sport |
