Winter Doldrums

If you've visited my blog lately, you've probably noticed that there seems to be a lack of posts. I'm still here, I just don't know if I have anything to say. I used to have tons of posts ready to go so that if I didn't have anything interesting to say, I could click a button and post a thought that I had had one night weeks ago. Well, gone are those days. I've run out. It seems that my lack of upkeep in cyberspace (do people still use that word) has also reared its ugly head in my "real" life, too. Gone are the days where I would eagerly come home, nap, then plant myself in front of a movie and grade. Now, I just nap, then watch a movie. I couldn't figure out why my school bag was so heavy. It wasn't until today that I realized it was because I had papers from January 9th (!) that I needed to reconcile. It's not like I don't have the intention to grade. I faithfully bring the bag home, set it near me, and then for some reason, just looking at it puts me to sleep. Maybe I should start a holistic grading program that is based solely on oral answers that you give during the course of the class period...could I get away with that? Well I am sure that soon I will have some exciting news and virtues to extol, but as for now, enjoy this wonderful, deflated windsock that describes my current state:

By the way, I do still love my job!

I find myself too exhausted to blog well these days too; and though I am working at keeping up, I find that my surly self seems to come through more often than my kinder self.

How was your trip to Quebec, by the way?

Montreal was awesome! It was the best vacation I have probably taken in a while. It's like being in France, without the long plane ride or the expensive euro conversion rate! It's also really diverse, and I didn't know that.

A trip I hope to make one summer begins in Montreal for a few days followed by a drive up to stay in Quebec City and then a drive further north up the St. Laurence River.

Oddly, in my situation it is easier to get to Paris than Montreal...
